Privacy Policy
Plain-English summary: we collect a name, an email, and anonymous analytics — nothing more, because nothing is ever sold here. Your cart and order history stay in your own browser. See also the Terms of Service.
1. What this covers
This policy describes what information The Dream Cart (thedreamcart.com) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a shopping simulator — a name, an email, and anonymous usage analytics — and we do not sell any of it.
2. Information you give us
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored and verified by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store them ourselves. Your name and email are used to personalize simulated receipts and to send account emails: verification, a welcome note, and receipts for simulated orders. A shipping address entered at checkout is decorative, stored only in your own browser, and never sent to us.
3. Information stored in your browser
Your cart, wishlist, and simulated order history live in your browser's local storage — they never leave your device unless you use a sharing feature. Shared dream-cart links encode only product identifiers and quantities. Signing in sets cookies used solely to keep you signed in and to remember that your email was verified.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages visited, add-to-cart and simulated-purchase events, approximate location, device type). Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data under Google's own privacy terms. We see aggregated statistics, not your identity. You can block analytics with standard browser tools or extensions and the site works fully.
5. Service providers
We rely on a small set of processors to operate: Google Firebase (authentication), Resend (transactional email delivery), Netlify (hosting), and Google Analytics (usage statistics). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information with anyone.
6. Email
We currently send only account-related email: verification, welcome, and simulated receipts. If we ever introduce a marketing newsletter, it will be opt-in and every message will include a working unsubscribe link.
7. Retention and deletion
Account records are kept while your account exists. To delete your account and associated data, email info@thedreamcart.com from the address on the account and we will remove it promptly. Browser-stored data (cart, wishlist, order history) can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact info@thedreamcart.com and we will delete it.
9. Security
Credentials are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; session cookies are signed and transmitted only over HTTPS; no payment information exists anywhere on the Service because nothing is ever sold.
